The birth of this site came about one day while reading an article on Coding Horror about the demise of the modern programmer. Specifically, it was about the poor quality of Computer Science graduates applying for programming jobs. As I read that post, my stomach turned in knots, my face flushed… I was irate at the accusations flowing from this article, yet it was — and remains — the truth. What could I do about it? I had already been told once by a top programming shop “Candidates possessing only a Computer Science degree need not apply”. I had to find a different route. What I needed was what every artist worth his weight in paint tubes has: a portfolio.

And that’s exactly what this site is.

The inspiration for the first entry in this code portfolio came from that very post: FizzBuzz. The rest, as they say, is history.
