What I'm busy doing right now
My current assignment is in the town of La Antigua, Guatemala. Situated about 45 minutes to the south-west of Guatemala City and nestled between three volcanoes, the town of La Antigua is a sleepy oasis from the bustling urban center that is “Guate”. Antigua is so named (its name means “Antique” in Spanish) because it’s the old capital of Guatemala.
The ministry I work with is called “Ministerios Destino” (Destiny Ministries). Our mission started in its first phase as an orphanage in this town. Now, a few years into it, we are preparing to open a Minister’s Training Center, and that is why I find myself here. I’m helping Pastor Harry get this second phase started.
I’m not called to spend forever in Guatemala; my heart’s in China. But my assignment is here. And volunteering in Bible Schools is very near to my heart. My dream, what would make me absolutely giddy, is to one day get to China and see missionaries there from Guatemala who graduated from this school. That’s my dream. And I honestly believe — I’m truly convinced — that this is exactly what is going to happen.
