And what you can expect to get out of it

I first created this site for kicks, but later realized that it would be a good idea to have something like this when I’m overseas. I never imagined it would go this far, though. I actually thought it would just be a repository for pictures and stories from the mission front. But over time this site has developed into an extension of me, becoming an avenue to express my true personality. Through creating this site I’ve begun to discover myself, and I’ve gotten to know many good friends along the way. But the original intent remains, and the main theme of this site is still my missions work.

At first this website was a “blog”, meaning I posted what basically amounts to diary entries on a semi-standard schedule. But I feel like there’s a greater purpose to this site than simply venting my feelings, and so I have converted the format of my site to a “photoblog”; still basically a blog, but instead of posting traditional articles, I’m posting pictures.

I’ve literally thousands of pictures from the mission field, and many — many — of the old ones I’ll never publish here. I have over seven hundred from Thailand alone, and already as I’m writing this, I’ve taken over four hundred six hundred on my current assignment in Guatemala. So I decided to begin with a schedule of one photo per day, published in the morning at nine o’clock sharp Central Time (save Sunday), starting with my favorites from Thailand (since that location was the focus of this site ever since its inception), and then we’ll work our way into Guatemala, and then go on from there.
