In it to Win

Overcoming the enemy in every trial

There are many times in my life when I think all is lost, that there is no hope. But God has declared that in Him all things are possible. He has told us that in Him we can have hope. He has said that He will not allow us to be tested beyond what we are able to bear. What this means is that if we are in it, then we already have all the tools necessary to win. God would not have allowed the test to come if He didn’t have full confidence that you were 100% capable of emerging victorious. Look at Job: he had everything, he lost everything, and everything was restored to him double. God is not in the business of taking stuff away from people. The person who accuses God of that is a fool.

It is the enemy who comes to “… Steal, to kill, and to destroy.” That same scripture says that Christ, “… Has come that you may have life to the fullest.” Is there “life to the fullest” in thievery? No, so God didn’t do it. But, so many people think they are in God’s absolute will for their life if they are downtrodden, discouraged, and defeated. They think they are being so holy because they are living so broken. But what glory does God get in that situation? Joshua prayed to God that they would have total victory over their enemies, lest the very heathen they were fighting mock God by saying He isn’t a just God because He doesn’t take care of His own people. What kind of God would He be if He led His own people into the desert to die?

My friend, God is a just God Who cares deeply for you. Even if you aren’t saved and never intend to be, He still loves you just like He loves His own children. John 3:16 says that God loved the World so much that He sent His only Son to die on a cross so that we all would have a way to come into a relationship with Him [Update: read the full story here: The Story of Jesus. -Ed.] He doesn’t love you because you do so good; He loves you in spite of the fact that you do bad. He doesn’t want you to fail in the trials that come your way. Sure, they’re difficult; they’re very difficult. And you have the ability to completely annihilate the enemy in them, too! Don’t get discouraged by what you see happening around you. Take heart, knowing that if you are in it, you can win it!
