Outside

The sun is going down.
The birds are chirping,
The crickets cricketing,
And I am left to write about it.

The golden sky is turning
A dark Lavender,
And the beautiful rays of sunshine
Are shrinking back into their abode.

But the beauty of this time
Is watching life go to sleep.
She closes her eyes and covers up for the night,
Like a little boy I know growing tired.

It’s been nice to be here,
Experiencing the miracle of day’s end.
But I’m only human,
And it’s time for bed.

Good night, dear nature; I’ll see you in the morning,
When the sun’s golden rays
Will peek out from under their covers,
And the day will be brand new.
