Chinese Bibles

These books are illegal just over the horizon

10 February 2010, 09:00

I wrote to you the other day about the Bible translated into Akha. These Bibles are in Chinese. It’s so beautiful to me. To think, these books are illegal just a few dozen kilometers north of where I was standing. I was preaching in Maeap once, and pured my heart out to the crowd, encouraging them to be on fire for God, because just a few kilometers away, just right across the Mekong River, is Laos, and there you go to prison for even professing Christianity. Here, just westward is Burma (a military junta), and China is to the north, a bit beyond the Burmese border. In China, people are arrested every day for the cause of Christ. These books are like gold to them.
