Chinese Calligraphy Brushes

Geeking out at the stationery shop

21 February 2010, 09:00

Chinese calligraphy is quite common in the north of Thailand. Because the common language here is actually a sub-dialect of Mandarin, many children learn to read and write proper Chinese in school. As such, calligraphy supplies are practically ubiquitous at stationery shops.

This particular brush stand was beautiful, with the light of sunset just barely peeking through the windows. I didn’t buy any supplies this day, but I was sorely tempted to. In case you didn’t know, I’m a bit of an writing utensil geek.
