Yummy! Yummy!
25 January 2010, 09:00Okay, I know that most of the food I’ve shown you thus far has been to document how strange the food in Thailand is compared to the food in America. But this is different! These are freshly-caught wild snails, and a whole host of people were involved with preparing them. They had to remove the animal from its shell using a small stick, and that is a very time-intensive process when you’ve got so many.
They were absolutely delicious with the fried rice (snail fried rice!), but I think something wasn’t cooked right. I got pretty sick the next day and couldn’t go to service. Mrs. Wong says it was probably the rice, but I have my doubts. Yet that was hardly a price to pay for yummy snails! Plus, while I was home, I just laid on the bed and watched National Geographic. Good times, good times.
